- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
- Physically and mentally able to perform the duties of a Police Officer- must be able to pass the Greater Sudbury Police Service Fitness Test, as well as a medical and psychological assessment
- Valid driver's license with full driving privileges
- Current Certificate in CPR (Level "C") and First Aid
- Currently in good standing with respective Police Service
- Completion of the Basic Constable Training Program or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to meet Essential Competencies and knowledge through previous Policing Experience
- Bilingualism considered an asset
Military Police Experienced Officer Candidates:
- Military Police Experience Officer Candidates may qualify for the Ontario Police College's (OPC) equivalency process. Candidate must also complete the equivalency exam process.
- Candidates must have successfully completed a probationary period as set out in Section 44 (1) of the Police Services Act (PSA)
